‘This is a very bad day for humanity’: Truck mechanic mourns shooting in Oregon
A truck mechanic in Oregon has died after a gunman opened fire inside a pickup, killing the driver and injuring six others, including a police officer.
The Oregon State Police identified the deceased as a 64-year-old mechanic named Scott Johnson.
Police in Bend, Oregon, said Johnson was in his truck when he was shot at a residence about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Police said Johnson and two other men got into an argument with another man inside the home and he fired a shot.
He was shot in the head and died at the scene.
The men who were in the truck were arrested and taken to a local hospital, but no charges have been filed.
The motive for the attack remains unclear.
Police had no suspects.
